OUR TEAM

EXPERIENCED, DEDICATED PROFESSIONALS

Owner Jill McGlaughlin and the CK&B team have been bringing expertly crafted interior design solutions to the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas since 2001. We’re a tight-knit group of designers, technicians, managers, and coordinators who share a common goal — turning our clients’ visions into realities.

Harrisonburg, VA, is our home, and we’re passionate about giving back to the community, whether it’s supporting a local charity or helping families in need. We’re lucky enough to live our dreams every day, building beautiful kitchens, baths, and more for our neighbors, and we take great pride in being able to help others along the way.

JILL MCGLAUGHLIN

Owner, CGP, CAPS

Jill is the shim that keeps everyone at Classic Kitchen and Bath level and in their place. Her nearly 20 years of experience and keen eye for up-and-coming trends serve her well as advisor and problem-solver as she manages the business and leads the team.

When you stroll through the showroom, you can get a sense for her desire to deliver on form, function, and customer satisfaction. She knows a home is an environment to be surrounded by, but also to live (and work, and cook) within. Ask her how your home can grow with you and watch her eyes light up — her genuine commitment to aging in place is obvious through the functional yet decorative accessories that fill her store. If you’ve ever cringed at the thought of adding a stability bar to a beautifully designed bathroom, then you’ve not yet seen Jill’s product offerings.

Her life may seem like all work and no play, but don’t be fooled — Jill knows how to have fun. You can find her sweating it out at CrossFit Harrisonburg at the crack of dawn, then later jaunting around town with her husband, Chad, and kids, walking D.D. (the store mascot is also one of her dogs in residence), or bungee jumping off a train bridge in Idaho (okay… maybe that only happened once). While she has access to a number of tools of her trade, the one you’ll never catch her without is a wine key.

Leslie Efraimson
Leslie Efraimson

Interior Designer, CAPS

Leslie enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her husband and three children, whipping up new recipes in the kitchen, and the smell of fresh cut grass in the summer. A real jokester, her quick wit and treasure trove of quips keep everyone around her struggling to keep a straight face. Sincere, sentimental, silly; Leslie definitely knows how to inspire smiles.

She wears many hats at Classic Kitchen and Bath — Leslie has a hand in just about everything we do. She works both with clients and behind the scenes, showcasing products, arranging schedules with homeowners and contractors, creating blueprints, and estimating costs. She finds joy in helping people explore and discover the potential of their projects, then revels in the joy on their faces when everything is finished. Leslie has been a part of Jill’s team since the beginning and wouldn’t have it any other way — she cherishes having creative freedom and the opportunity to grow as a designer and proud member of the Shenandoah Valley community.

Gabby Koontz
Gabby Koontz

Kitchen & Bath Designer, Showroom Coordinator, CKD, CAPS

Gabby always looks on the bright side and you’ll never meet anyone with a greater appreciation for life. Family woman and nature lover, she spends her time camping with her daughter and husband, romping with their pets, and exploring the wonders of the world. If given the choice of sightseeing ancient architecture in Spain or cruising the streets of Paris on a motorcycle, you can bet she will have helmet hair by the end of the day.

She may as well be a mind reader, too. Her ability to pick the perfect cabinets and countertops, no matter the customer, is famous. Figuring out a challenge is exciting and nothing beats seeing the happiness on her client’s face upon seeing the finished product. She always works her magic, whether she’s renovating an entire kitchen or simply modernizing a space. She’s been in the industry for over a decade and with Classic Kitchen and Bath since 2007 — we value her friendly and professional attitude, ability to listen to her client, make valuable educated decisions, and a worldly view on life.

Katie Atkinson
Katie Atkinson

Business Manager

Originally from southern Maryland, Katie has lived in and has continuously fallen in love with the Valley for nearly two decades. Her faith, husband, three children and several grandchildren keep her busy. She spends much of her time with them just “being,” a large part of her restorative lifestyle. Fortunate enough to live within walking distance of downtown, she can also be found tasting local brews, hitting one of the many fabulous local restaurants, and taking in live music from time to time. When life gets too hectic, naps or a good night’s sleep are her go-to — she lives by her Mom’s words: “Things will always look and feel better in the morning.”

Katie is the glue that holds everyone together, both at home and at work. We’re lucky to have her at Classic Kitchen and Bath — her 25+ years of experience in sales, sales management, and customer service make her the perfect person to oversee all of our ins and outs. She not only manages our office, but also acts as a liaison between designers, contractors and clients. We count on her to ensure that everyone has what they need, whether it be a cool bottle of water for a guest in the showroom on a hot summer day, or doing her part to make sure they end up with results that far exceed their expectations!

Cathy Pitts
Cathy Pitts

Kitchen & Bath Designer, CAPS

Cathy can’t start her day without coffee — and lots of it. A wanderer at heart, when you catch her in a daydream, it is probably about packing up at a moment’s notice and catching the first flight to anywhere. She’s a cat lover, random dancer and dragon collector. She’s the type of friend you can always rely on, whether it is to ward off bullies or teach you how to draw.

Cathy’s passion for transforming houses into homes is unmistakable. Perhaps it’s her expansive imagination that allows her to creatively align function and form. She sees more than the elements of a room — she can visualize her customers working, living and loving every minute in their space. Accompanying that imagination is a lot of education, and even with an interior design degree under her belt, Cathy still finds new ways to expand her education, one certification at a time. We think it’s her thirst for knowledge that keeps her going (and maybe a little caffeine).

Jeff Taylor
Jeff Taylor

Project Coordinator

Jeff is quite the globetrotter — he’s been to the North Pole and even knows how to fly a plane. He once flew to Los Angeles just for french fries, and that’s only the beginning of his foodie obsession. Truthful, always on time, and fashion-forward, Jeff is the kind of guy who seems like he has it all figured out. He may be well-polished and put together, but he loves to let loose, have fun, and is truly a goofball at heart.

At work, no day is ever the same for Jeff. As Classic Kitchen and Bath’s project coordinator, he makes sure all jobs are running like a well-oiled machine. He’s the reason our warehouse is in stock, deliveries are on time, and installations are in line. He’s the ultimate problem solver — he can work his magic and fix issues for clients, designers, and technicians alike.

Kimberly Wright
Kimberly Wright

Design Assistant

As a mother of six who has always had a passion for interior design, Kimberly was thrilled to join the Classic Kitchen and Bath family in January 2018 as a design assistant. When she isn’t spending time with her family, you can find Kimberly dreaming up her next decorating or remodeling project for her home. From painting walls and reupholstering furniture, to removing walls and adding a bathroom, there is no idea too big for her imagination.

Kimberly still wants to pinch herself every day that she is working in the design field— it’s a dream come true for her. Kimberly previously ran a small, word-of-mouth business in interior design, where she helped clients choose color schemes and made custom window coverings. She most recently worked in marble and granite sales, but her true passion lies in kitchen design. At Classic Kitchen and Bath, she loves to create kitchens and baths in 2020 Design, but she also takes care of a number of other responsibilities within our business. From creating estimates and tracking leads, to providing the best customer service for our customers, Kimberly handles it all with a big smile on her face. Throughout her multitude of tasks, however, one thing is consistent: Kimberly is always eager to meet new people and help your experience at Classic Kitchen and Bath be the best it can be.

D.D., Greeter
D.D., Greeter

Client Consultant

D.D. hitchhiked to Harrisonburg all the way from Mississippi to join Jill’s family, and we don’t blame her — who wouldn’t want custom-designed cabinets with a recessed area just for her water and food bowls, not to mention endless belly scratches and comfy laps to lounge in? She was quickly promoted from her former life of roaming the countryside to a high-profile position at Classic Kitchen and Bath: Greeter and Client Consultant.

Her main responsibilities include ensuring a happy and productive atmosphere, offering emotional support while customers decide on one of the many options for their home, and snacking on way too many treats. She is perfect for the job, as her tail-wagging abilities are unsurpassed, her floppy ears lend themselves to listening, and her small dimensions remind everyone to consider furnishings from different perspectives. When she’s not keeping the shop in line, D.D. spends her time romping around at home with Jill and her family, sleeping, and still eating way too many goodies. In reality, we need D.D. more than she needs us — we’d be lost without her.

The Classic Kitchen and Bath Field Technician Team

Our well-rounded team of field technicians are the ones who turn the creative inspiration of design into your new living space. They do more than install cabinets, fixtures and appliances — they bring the experience of true craftsmen with eyes for detail, strength and know-how to complete even the most complicated projects. They believe a job done well means the customer is delighted from the moment of installation, but the guys on our field tech team have a vision that goes beyond the installation, always thinking about the future. They’re the ones that live by our commitment to quality, that your satisfaction is just as important long-term as it is on day one. With Virginia’s temperate climate, it’s not unusual to need to make adjustments, especially in the first year. So when you see these guys’ smiling faces at your door, you know any issues will be resolved. Feel free to pick their brains about any aspect of your project — their vast years of experience and passion for their work serve them well. Our field technicians always go above and beyond to help customers create the home of their dreams.

Meet the field technician team:

Dale Cooper
Dale Cooper

Technician Team Member

Dale lives for his family—he has four grown kids and serves as a personal jungle gym for his 12 grandchildren. He has worked in the construction industry for over 40 years and has been with Classic Kitchen and Bath since 2001. He is a deep-rooted member of our family tree as well. A man of faith and a proper gentleman, he never takes a bite without first praying and making sure everyone has what they need. He’s not big on travel, but when he does have some time to himself, you can find Dale casting a line off the beaches of Emerald Isle.

Kevin Brown
Kevin Brown

Technician Team Member

A Harrisonburg native who will always opt for the outdoors over air conditioning, Kevin spends his free time hunting, fishing, and running the bases. He’s a God-fearing family man who would do anything for his loved ones (which includes their pets: four Chihuahuas and a cat). You could say he’s old school—in his years with Classic Kitchen and Bath (since 2003) he has demonstrated that, for him, life is a hands-on activity, and that doesn’t mean hands on a computer keyboard.

Jeremy Cooper
Jeremy Cooper

Technician Team Member

Jeremy is a true believer that baseball is and always will be America’s favorite pastime. To him, nothing is better than a ballpark hotdog, a handful of peanuts, and the time he spends sharing his favorite sport with his kids. As for work, he’s been a master carpenter for 20+ years, but that doesn’t stop him from furthering his education with online classes. Jeremy has been with Classic Kitchen and Bath since 2001, but brings a lifetime of experience that really shows through his precision and dedication to every project and customer.
